Leprous Confirmed as Saturday Headliner for Kaaos Festival 2025
Leprous, one of Norway’s leading progressive metal bands, has been confirmed as the Saturday headliner for Kaaos Festival, taking place for the first time on July 25–26, 2025, at the former Wasalandia amusement park site in Vaasa. The show will be Leprous’ only performance in Finland in 2025.
Known for their artistic approach to heavy music, Leprous was formed in their teenage years by vocalist/keyboardist Einar Solberg and guitarist Tor Oddmund Suhrke. Over the past two decades, the band has crafted a distinctive sound that draws influences from artists as varied as Massive Attack, The Prodigy, and Behemoth. Their most recent critically acclaimed album, “Melodies of Atonement”, was released in 2024. Leprous describes their sound as “light at the end of the tunnel,” and that light has attracted a devoted global following.
With Leprous locked in and the band competition winner set to be announced on Friday, May 16th, the festival lineup is now complete. Festival promoter Arto Mäenpää shared his thoughts:
“The first year’s lineup is now ready, and I think it really reflects the Kaaoszine spirit—offering a wide range of metal, from black metal to nu metal.
Hopefully, as many people as possible will give this new festival a shot. It definitely won’t fall short when it comes to the venue or the awesome bands! See you in Vaasa in July!”
